The use of online delivery formats grew in the field of library and information science in the 1990s. This research project focuses on the experiences and stories of library and information graduate students who were some of the early pioneers in using these online formats.

As part of a mixed methods research design, the project includes an online questionnaire with both quantitative and qualitative components. The online questionnaire is available through March, 2010, and all persons who took at least one LIS online graduate course from an ALA-accredited school or program during the 1990s are invited to participate.

Cherri Shelnutt, the researcher for this project, is a doctoral candidate in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University. She is familiar with a variety of online formats, having taken her first online graduate course over a decade ago.
